Five Things You should know about of Me as a Life Coach

1. I am always working on improving myself and my skills to better relate and translate everything that I learn those that I work with.
2. I help to provide perspective and strategy in any area of your life you look to improve. I don’t make decisions for you. You are the expert of your life.
3. I act as a sounding board to help eliminate habits and negative self talk that can be toxic to your soul.
4. I promote healthy life habits and thought patterns through a growth process. I demonstrate everything I promote.
5. I experience joy and empowerment by supporting and witnessing the success of others!

Positive Thinking

What is the best way to change negative thinking into positive thinking? There are tools that you can use but it is important to keep in mind that the most important thing you have to do is take action, choose do something about it now. We need to think about the importance of positive thinking and better mental health and how it affects every area of our lives and all of those around us,  and it is up to us to do something about it. If you are unhappy with things that surround you in your life, you have a better chance of changing your thinking into better thinking, than you do having everything in the world and everyone in your life come into perfect harmony with your expectations. When emergency service personnel prepare for their work, they do the training prior to crisis, before the intensity of events and they do it by retraining their instincts by repetition. In this same way, we ‘install’ new positive thinking messages to our brain and intentionally write positive statements that we by practice and we repeat to ourselves, and repeat to ourselves, and repeat to ourselves, and repeat to ourselves, and repeat to ourselves, so that when the challenge comes, you have practiced methods that will begin to automatically kick in and after a while, will begin changing your whole life.

I’ve had times of stress that i was intentional about changing my thoughts that played in my head, for example when struggling with ‘not enough’ changing my thoughts of worry to “everything always works out for me” and then when times would come where I need to pay a bill and I need to get food or gas, my thoughts would automatically go to “everything always works our for me” and I tell you, that repeating that to myself, and feeling the feelings of “everything always works out for me” is much better than the feeling of “not enough” and my whole life begins to know and trust that everything always does work out for me!

Your thoughts really do create your world. And we aren’t always good enough to ourselves. Change is a process, we didn’t get this way overnight and we shouldn’t expect that we are going to change our whole world over night.

So make the decision to change your way of thinking, start anywhere you want. Maybe it’s not having enough, or not having the job you want, or the car you want, or wanting to quit smoking or wanting to have more energy or a better relationship.

Write out the opposite of the negative thinking, and find a quiet time to repeat the new lines of information to yourself, over and over and over and over. and watch how things begin to change and how your thoughts will begin to turn to the new information you’ve installed!

Gratitude Challenge

Over the next few weeks, be intentional and look for things that are good.

Observe what makes you feel great and write out 10 things that you are thankful for. Your sentences should look like this:

I am so thankful for the income that I have to help me pay for the things that I need in my life. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I am so thankful for the gas in my vehicle that get’s me around to where I need to go. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I am so thankful for opportunities to learn everyday. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

10 things on September 22nd (today), September 29, October 6th and October 13th.

On the 5th week (October 20th), write out a goal or a change you are committed to making in your life. Include:  1) How you are going to do it. 2) When you are going to do it. 3) Why you are going to do it and 4) What is going to stop you and what you are going to do about it!

Five things you’ve been doing wrong all your life

1. Doubting yourself: Be intentional and trust the choices you make. You may not be where you want to be, but your not where you used to be and you have to believe in yourself.

2. Not accepting complements: It’s nice to have reassurance from our peers, if someone gives you a compliment, you take it! There is power in the words Thank You! Start now!

3. Not forgiving: Ever hear the term “Holding on to anger is like holding a hot potato and expecting the other person to get burnt?” That’s unforgiveness. Choose to forgive, it’s a key to feeling free. You are only hurting yourself.

4. Waiting for something to happen instead of making something happen: We need to put our dreams our there in the universe and then we need to take action. Follow inspiration. Do something. You don’t need to see the whole staircase, just take the next step!

5. Not believing that something awesome can happen for you. If you are not open to believing something awesome can happen, you are actually closing off those opportunities. You MUST to believe that you can receive something amazing, and be open to something amazing.

Customer Service Training

I have always been a fan of receiving fantastic customer service, mostly because I make sure to always give fantastic customer service. I ‘served’ 10 years with Manitoba Hydro and we received some pretty informational and pretty helpful customer service training, because a lot of people are unhappy when they open up their gas bill, hmmm. Anyway, I think I may have liked the training a lot because I suddenly wanted to be a trainer. That opportunity didn’t seem to present itself to me while I was at hydro, but all these years later, and a few ‘jobs’ later and plenty of ‘self development’ later, I find myself still bothered with the customer service that I seem to receive while visiting or calling the businesses of which I utilize. So instead of complaining about the service I wish I would receive, I decided to act on something I have been wanting to act on for years!

Further experience I call ‘customer service’, includes my experience in dealing with people of all walks of life and all levels of society, my time as a department manager, my service as a Mary Kay Consultant, as a free-lance contract worker for planning and other project managing activities, and more recently my work as a professional certified Life Coach, all required these customer service skills that I have demonstrated and  matured, and these such skills have caused me to launch my own version of Customer Service Training and so it begins.

I am very pleased to share that I have completed a first level of customer service training to a staff of 30 plus members, with materials that are specific to their job market. It was very well received and improvements have already been recognized in the workplace. I have yet to facilitate level 2, and in the meantime are negotiating two more contract opportunities. The moral of the story is #followyourdreams.
